The motion went to the Safety and Rules Committee the next day, proceeding to the Nov. 1st meeting of the Board and will come before the regular meeting of the Board on Nov. 13th. Reason given for the elimination - meetings were cancelled due to not enough members for a quorum. Members recollection differed... that meetings were cancelled due to no items on the agenda!
The whole process was done by the letter of the law, but very little respect for the members - to give them time to weigh the pros and cons of this decision made by the Chairman of the Board.
A little aside... the Chairperson is the only woman chairperson of a committee. What if the shoe was on the other foot and the committee chair was a man? Would a question be raised? And then, would a committee be dissolved?
