More EMS volunteers are needed...
Sometimes it is taken for granted that emergency 
services will be there when needed.
What if there are no more volunteers?
What plans can be laid down now for the future?

Disaster planning underway 
Initiated by Fire Chief Beckwith, a group from various departments and institutions is meeting to have a plan in place for a mass fatality occurrence...very sobering - just to hear the details involved.

 

 

THE DIVERSION PROGRAM WAS BEGUN LAST YEAR.  It is a program designed to assist motorists with certain non-serious Vehicle & Traffic offenses by allowing them to participate in a traffic safety course approved by the New York State DMV, in lieu of a conviction of the traffic offense. Upon successful completion of this traffic safety course, the motorist's traffic ticket(s) will be dismissed. There will be no fine or surcharge and there will be no record of conviction on the motorist's driving record.

BE ALERTED:  It has been said that information is not being offered to persons appearing in some of the courts of the county.  Nor is the choice offered at the time of ticket.

FOR A VETERAN SERVICE OFFICER.
THERE HAS NOT BEEN A SALARIED POSITION FOR 30 YEARS
4,581 Veterans in Chenango County
The person filling this position will help the Veteran with the numerous forms to receive benefits.
THIS ALSO IS A STATEMENT OF SUPPORT FOR OUR VETERANS.
The seed salary will come before the Finance Committeee for a vote on March 1st... after not being acted upon for one half year and in other committees for 4 additional months.

CHENANGO COUNTY ACCEPTED A GRANT TO STUDY THE TRANSPORTATION NEEDS.
Thr survey was completed and reported to the Planning and Economic Development Committee.
The new schedule will be published
